KY BBQ Company Closing this weekend

by Scott_Shreffler » Thu Jan 28, 2010 1:15 pm

I just spoke to Greg, owner of KY BBQ Company, and he informed me that they will be closing their doors Saturday night. This came as quite a blow, as I think they serve the best BBQ in our fair city, as well as having one of the best beer lists in town. In addition, I have had the pleasure of becoming friends with Greg and quite a few members of his staff. They truly are a great group of people. So, be sure to come out this weekend and give Greg and Company a proper send-off.

Part of the festivities this weekend will be a special keg of the New Albanian/Schlafly/O'Fallon C-1 Collaboration, to be tapped Friday night. For those of you who weren't able to make it out to the launch on Tuesday, you have yet another chance to try it. We'll have to blow the keg to make sure none of it goes to waste. I know that the guys from NABC and I can put a pretty good dent in it, but we are certainly going to need your help. I can't think of a better beer and food pairing than C-1 and a rack of Greg's amazing ribs. In addition to this fantastic beer, Old Man and K Tranza will be hitting the stage to make sure the party never slows down.

I hope to see lots of you out Friday night. Cheers, all.

Sorry to hear this...and on the heals of losing Pig City no less. Sounds like a right wing conspiracy.

Steve,

Give the FABD a shot if you haven't already. They do some pretty good BBQ.

And they're opening a second shop in the former Cribstone Pub on Bardstown Road!

That said, I regret seeing KY BBQ go. I agree that it's good 'cue and good people, and they've really been snakebit in three locations, counting their previous incarnation as Bourbon Bros. I hope Greg pops up again, and will let us know when he does.

This is truly sad news. I really hope to see them all again in a new incarnation sometime soon.
