A question of great importance ...

by Pete O » Thu Jan 28, 2010 12:22 pm

Potato Chips: Wavy Ridges, Tight Ridges (i.e. Ruffles), or no ridge at all?

Discuss.

The only time it makes a difference for me is when I'm dipping. I must have tight ridges for my dips.

Artisanal kettle chips for me. Thick-sliced, skin on, natural and crunchy. Ridges ain't natural.

The closest thing I can think of is Mike Sell's.

The have some Bahama BBQ kettle chips that are pretty good.

I eat Miss Vickie's salt & vinegar chips quite often. The sandwich shop in the lobby of my building has them.

I am quite partial to the wavy style chip. The Mike-Sells are my favorite. I think it is the peanut oil.

oooo. I love Grippos. I also love a nice, thick kettle chip, preferably with some of the tater peel still attached. Even better if it is nicely browned. Like Cheez-Its, potato chips are better with a bit of brown on them. ;)
