Soooo, who has the best sandwich in town ?

by Steve P » Wed Jan 27, 2010 11:59 pm

Ok...the only criteria is that it has to come served on bread...burgers, dogs, subs, panini, deli, you name it. What is your favorite local "go to" sandwich when you've got a Jones on for a good "Sammie" ?

From Becky P: BLT on wheat at Ermin's in the Heyburn Bldg. (A basic simple BLT but it's always fresh and the tomatoes "rock").

I used to work downtown and got lots of sandwiches from Ermin's. I agree with your wife - good, simple, hearty sandwiches at a fair price.

For me, make it a reuben and a pint of Dead Guy at the bar at Baxter Station.

Italian Combo sandwich at Steve-O's in Buckner is the unanimous choice of my beautiful bride and I. Ask for it fully dressed and lightly toasted. In sospeso!

Danny Mac's Cheese-steak is truly a wonder to behold. I think I'm going to have to get one for lunch today! :D

I am torn between a Danny Mac Cheese Steak, Bosna- Mak gyros, or the Nuclear Sub- from menu ..(Famous Nuclear Sub – A combination of salami, ham, pepperoni, black olives, green olives, green peppers, onions and mushrooms.) from the Corner Cafe.
As a side issue, if you would/or could, Robin, please add a link to Corner Cafe and Bosna-Mak in the restaurant site section. Thanks
The tall one wants white toast, dry, with nothin' on it.
And the short one wants four whole fried chickens, and a Coke.

OK, I know it belongs to the dreaded "C" word, but I love Jason's Deli. Corned Beef on Rye with Swiss and spicy brown mustard......YUM
If life's a Banquet, what's with all the Tofu?

From my vegetarian point of view, Corner Cafe has the best veggie sub in town!

And I should also mention Boombozz Taphouse. We finally made it there last night for the 1st time, and the bread they use on the subs is GREAT!!! Much better than what we used to get delivered actually.

Nah, actually I screwed up by NOT having them on the list. But it's good now! Both added and tested to make sure the links are right.

Any time, guys - if you spot a bad link on the Louisville Restaurant HotLinks page, or a good local eatery Website that's left off, please let me know. I like to keep that thing comprehensive and accurate.

"Mark's Special" from Stevens and Stevens is one of my favorites. Corned Beef and Pastrami on Fresh Rye with some spicy mustard. I also love their balsamic bow tie pasta salad with goat cheese and basil. Yum!

I wonder how early they open :-)
