C1 Launch Party with Schlafly, NABC, O'Fallon

Postby Ashley Isaacs » Mon Jan 25, 2010 6:11 pm

Tuesday, January 26th at 7:00 is the C1 Launch Party at Flanagan's Ale House! C1 is a new collaborative brew from Schlafly, New Albanian Brewing Co, and O'Fallon! These amazing brewmasters got together to come up with something too exciting for words! C1 is an OAK-AGED, DRY-HOPPED, SMOKED, RYE PALE ALE! The boys from all three breweries are coming to town for this one time event! O'Fallon will be here with their Wee Heavy Scotch Ale, NABC will be pouring their Imperial Red, Elector, and Schlafly will be tapping one of the few kegs in this state of Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout! To top that off, our chefs are using these brews to whip up some amazing dinner specials: C1 Smoked Pork Sandwich, smoked pork tenderloin marinated in C1, topped with sliced Granny Smith Apples, covered with melted Manchego cheese and garnished with chipotle C1 infused aioli. The Elector Burger is mixed with onion and ranch seasoning, grilled to perfection, and topped with sliced jalapeños, pepperjack cheese, and an Elector Cayenne mayo. And for dessert, we will have Schlafly Bourbon Barrel Cheesecake, rich and smooth mocha cheesecake topped with White Chocolate sauce infused with Schlafly Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout. Stop by if you get the chance!

Of course, our C1 brewer of record Jared Williamson will be there, and I'm planning on it, too. This sounds mighty fine.

I will be there as well, along with Brennan Greene, our brewer at the Schlafly Tap Room. Brennan helped brew this one of a kind beer, along with Jared Williamson from NABC and three of the fine folks from O'Fallon Brewing in O'Fallon, MO: Brian, Dave and Stu. Hope to see lots of you there! Cheers, all.

Will any of these items be available before the launch party? I already have plans at 7, but would love to try the C1 and Elector burger.

I would be willing to bet that the food specials will be available starting around 5. But, with the brewers all coming into town and not arriving at Flanagan's until 7, I would imagine they'll wait to tap the keg of C-1...

Thanks to everyone at Flanagan's and Nachbar for the great parties last night. The smoked pok sandwich at Flanagan's was a winner, I loved the music at Nachbar, and the C1 at both places rocked.

Scott: I owe you a round, and congratulate you for being such a good sport when I got on my usual sports rant.

With brewers in attendance from all three breweries, plans were laid for C2 and C3, etc. But we're not releasing that information yet. For now, enjoy C1 while it lasts.

The C1 was very good, but the schlafly bourbon barrel imperial stout was my favorite from last night. They were both damn good though.

Good point. I had a nip of the Imperial Stout, and it was tasty. I'm not a sweet Scotch ale kind of guy, but the Wee Heavy from O'Fallon's was also excellent. Actually I ended the evening at Nachbar on Browning's Helles, one of my session faves, because my palate was completely shot.

Roger, you certainly don't owe me a pint, but I will be more than happy to take you up on your offer. As for the sports debate, I'm always game.
Thanks, as has been said previously, to everyone who made it out for the C-1 launch at both Flanagan's and Nachbar. Having heard the brewer's plans for the next few batches of the C series, you're going to want to stay tuned. Cheers, all.

Scott brought us a nice 1/6 bbl of the C1 yesterday.
Now i must decide whether to tap this lovely beer now or should i wait until all the other kegs are gone???.

My suggestion, wait until it's gone at Flanagan's and Nachbar... be the only one in town with it on!

The last keg of C1 at Bank Street Brewhouse blew at 2:30 today. The field is narrowing Shawn, I'd tap it sooner than later.

Based on the number of pints being poured tonight @ KY BBQ Co., one more keg will be gone by the end of the evening....
