looking for New Belgium Fat Tire beer

by Ginger Harris » Fri Jan 22, 2010 8:20 am

A friend is looking for a shop that carries this brand- apparently it is distributed in Indiana, but not Kentucky or Ohio. Any one know of a shop on the sunny side that might carry it?

Thanks.

Keg or Bridge Liquors should have it.

We've got it in cases, 12 packs, 6 packs, and 22oz bottles. Take your pick! :D

Keep in mind that it is "over-rated."

Pretty label though. And they even give employees a bike after a year of employment. Really.

I gotta disagree. I think it is a great beer. I am a fan of less hops/more malt recipes, so Fat Tire is right up my alley.

Ginger, if you really want to make your friend's day, tell him/her that Fat Tire on Tap can be found at the new Bearno's in Jeff (in the same building as Hooters and the Bristol).

My 2 cents.

I disagree too. It's a beer I find myself enjoying on several occasions. I'm surprised of even liking this beer; usually my tastes are Porters and Stouts. Some may think it's over-rated and that's ok. I believe some of the best rated beers to be over-rated. So, it all boils down to personal taste.

Agreed. No matter what's one's take is, Fat Tire is not Budweiser/Coors/etc. I think I have at least a partially discerning palate for beer, and I enjoy Fat Tire quite a bit.

The important thing to me is to know what it is: American Amber. Fat Tire falls within the target, and so do other, similar beers. Ambers per se tend to be a bit bland for me, but I will say that as a style, they seem to have gotten better in recent years. Formerly they were just indistinct.

Fat Tire was my gateway beer to other more flavorful brews. It holds a special place in my heart. 8)
