Taj Palace.......

by Ed Vermillion » Sat Jan 16, 2010 5:18 pm

is the name of the new place that The India Palace folks have opened in the former Seviche location on Goose Creek Road. Our family ate there for lunch today and the buffet was very good. Rounding up the usual suspects, all stood out for freshness and flavor. Some highlights for us were the fresh mango lassi, mango pudding and kheer. Try the onion chutney, very spicy! Nice to have good indian food close by again.

I agree with Ed. I had lunch at Taj Palace today too. Actually I think I right behind Ed in the buffet line. Everything that we tried was delicious. Best part, the floor didn't move.

We went today for the lunch buffet, and it was our only meal for the day. Everything was fresh and quickly restocked. I went back for goat curry and sag paneer. The kids liked chicken tikka and mango pudding. Similar or better quality than Shalimar.

I got carry out from there last week, mattar paneer, and the lamb shai korma.... both were equally delish. You can tell there is a lot of "Ghee" (clarified butter) because the leftover came out of the fridge in a solid mass. All I can say is Yum!

Had a nice dinner at Taj Palace tonight. The lamb malkhani (sp) was great. Overall it's certainly as good as Shalimar and a great Indian alternative in the far east end. No beer or wine until next week and no fountain drinks. Only 2 other tables the whole time we were there....I hope this location isn't jinxed. I kept thinking of Seviche the whole time I was there.

We ate there last week, and it was brilliant. We'll be back many times in the future. You could really just taste freshness....

Ate there today for lunch, had the buffet, I'd compare it to Shalimar...not as good as Bombay Grill or Dakshin...less depth of flavor and less spiciness overall. Samosas were pretty good though. The place was slammed, but only two native Indians in the place eating and I dragged them there.

I'm here in Bowling Green for a trial that will last about a month. I noticed a new Taj Palace opened. Anyone know if they're linked? If so, all your reviews looked good.

Don't know about Taj Palace, but if you're stuck in Bowling Green give Brickyard Cafe a try (1026 Chestnut St.).
