press mention of wineloverspage.com

by Sonja W » Fri Jun 15, 2007 12:03 am

The March 23 issue of "The Week" news magazine (circulation 425,000), mentioned Robin's wine site in their "Best of the Internet":

"Wineloverspage.com was founded in 1994 by journalist Robin Garr, and now hosts 19 expert columnists. With its focus on value bottles, the site has become 'a meeting place for wine aficionados of every palate'."

Congratulations, Robin!

What's interesting is that even though I am aware of the other site (just from this site) is that I've never visited it. Most likely cause I'm not much of a wine drinker.

Robin that's great. Have you ever thought about starting a liquor or spirits page? :?:

Thanks for the post, Sonja. Curiously enough, I'm not famliar with This Week. Do you know if it has any connection with Time Magazine? Reason I ask, we were featured in Time several months ago with almost those exact same words. Curious ... but hey, I'll take the publicity. :)

Carla, I'm really more of a wine "expert" but try to cover the whole food-and-drink universe, and I do report on liquors from time to time. Coincidentally, I just ran an article about Scotch and Bourbon (based on an event in Louisville) in my E-letter last week!

Bourbon or Scotch whisk(e)y?

Great article Robin; I wish I could have been there to enjoy the debate!
Thanks for sharing.

This Week is a brief compendium of stories from other magazines, so it is very possible the original was in Time.
