We've had Old Lightning Rod for a while, but this year's release is even better because Chef Josh Lehman has a meal to go with it.
NABC's Old Lightning Rod originally debuted on January 17, 2006. It was Benjamin Franklin's 300th birthday, and more than 100 breweries nationwide joined the celebration by brewing a colonial-era Old Ale recipe based on an award-winning formulation. Ben's about to be 305, and our fifth annual glimpse into the flavor profile of the 18th-century goes on tap at the Bank Street Brewhouse on Sunday, January 17. Old Lightning Rod is brewed with pale and dark malts, corn and molasses, and English hops. It is dark, sweet and warming.
On Sunday, Chef Josh Lehman will create a menu inspired by Franklin and the Colonial experience. Follow the link for further details on this one-of-a-kind menu and ale release. BSB is open from noon to 9:00 p.m. on Sunday.
