I had never heard of it. Looks to be semi-local and price competitive with Mortons and Ruby's.

Thanks for the info.

Their prices...hmmm...I'm not persuaded to eat here more than a local place. Most of the things on Jack Frys menu are less expensive. They have Vegas prices.

This could put Buddy Cabernet's out of business!

See Business First Story below.
I think it is awesome! In my view we have to surrender 4th St and this central area of downtown development to the tourst, out of town clientele. If Hard Rock Cafe, TGI Fridays, and steak houses are what the tourists and conference attendees desire, then so be it!

That's a really bad name for a restaurant.

My thoughts after a "quickie" read of the C.J. article...

The space had been vacant for at least 6 years...So obviously the "locals" weren't beating the door down to open anything in that space.

Eddie Merlot's plans to employ 70-80 people...I doubt they are going to "import" them, thus 70 to 80 new jobs benefiting the local economy.

The photo of the restaurant on their website looks quite appealing...kind of "Z's Fusion-ish" and speaking as a "steak and potato" kind of guy, the menu looks very appealing.

Do I stand 100% behind the local dining scene ?....you betcha. Will I try this new steakhouse out when it opens ?....Bet yer ass I will.

Chile's/Applebee's/Gag Me with a Spoon restaurants aside, sometimes I think we carry this "chain" thing too far. I'm about good food and I personally don't care who writes the paychecks.

I reserve the right to recant these and all comments once the bourbon wears off

My rather morally challenged friend, Pinot Gigolo once told me, "Friends never let friends drink Merlot". I believe him.
