Seems that's what McDonald's and Burger King are serving up, according to this (not that any of you frequent those places):

I don't eat fast food. Or, at least nothing they label formerly having a face.

I'm always bothered by these articles. They have a valid point to make, but they always seem to devolve into sensationalism.

I thought about the vegetarian move for a few minutes, then I ate a ribeye and changed my mind.

All joking aside, it truly is an eye opening movie however.

That article may have sensationalized it, but I just read the NY Times article about it and I'm going to be mighty picky about the source of the ground beef in my burgers from now on - centrifuged "pink slime" with a pH of 10 on a bun is just plain wrong... even if it does save someone 3 cents a pound! (full-strength household ammonia has a pH of 11.5 and bleach has a pH of 12.5).

Here's a link to the original NYTimes article:

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/12/31/us/31 ... ted=1&_r=1

Only problem now is trying to figure out who is using that stuff in their ground beef and who isn't....

I meant to post the Times article for my beef eating friends and it slipped my mind- not sensational but awfully scary.
I am so glad I don't like beef. Now if they touch my pig- well, it won't be pretty.

eh, think about the air you breathe, the things you touch. Even the common assault on your visual senses. Make your own decision, but I will go and get myself a burger on the occasion...

OK, I was totally yanking your 'chains,' lol. Pretty bad, though, it makes me rethink my convenience options....

I've seen it and loved it, even though I cried a lot. I think everyone should see it. The truth hurts.

If you enjoyed Food Inc you may also want to check out the film Fast Food Nation. It reminds me very much of a modern day telling of the Upton Sinclair book,The Jungle, subbing Latino for Lithuanians.I thought the film was really well done. It got across the point without being to "preachy" or sensational.

And the short one wants four whole fried chickens, and a Coke.

"Food, Inc." is really good & if you like that you'll probably like "Blue Gold: World Water Wars" as well. Both of these are available for streaming over Netflix. While I love to watch documentaries, I hope that everyone here will take the time to research the claims being made in what they watch instead of just accepting the information as fact. For instance, I'm not a big fan of the Fox News channel but I must admit that there's a lot of mis-information being given in the "Outfoxed: Rupert Murdoch's War On Journalism" documentary. I must say that "Food, Inc." is rather alarming if you didn't grow up on or around farms & that much of the information, as far as I can see, is relatively accurate. The subject of water isn't something that I'm all that familiar with but I've personally been looking in to this to change that.

I don't eat much fast food, anyway. I do, however, enjoy a good burger or steak, and I doubt any movie I could see would change that.
