Park Place on Main pays tribute to baseball season with a special "upscale ballpark menu" through the end of Louisville Bats baseball season around Labor Day in September.
The special menu, with dishes from $9 to $15 - a very attractive neighborhood for Park Place with its more high-end regular menu - will be available in the restaurant in Slugger Field from 5 to 7 p.m., before game time.
(That presumably means every evening when the restuarant is open, Wednesday through Saturday only, but the local PR release didn't make it entirely clear whether the menu is only available on nights when the Bats are playing at home.)
The ballpark menu dishes feature comfort food enhanced with "fine dining flavors," the release quotes chef de cuisine Jay Denham as saying.
Examples: appetizers such as popcorn calamari with roasted garlic aioli ($10); herb fries with truffle aioli ($9), and nachos with goat cheese queso, tomato and avocado ($9).
Main dishes feature "classic ball park food with a twist" such as a lobster corn dog with apricot ketchup ($15); bison short rib Sloppy Joe with fried onions ($12); fish tacos with pico de gallo ($14), and a duck hot dog with fennel kraut ($13).
Ballpark dessert choices such as a "Creamsicle" or lemon-flavored Italian frozen ice are $7.
