Horses and Heroes Winterfest / January 15

by Alan H » Wed Jan 06, 2010 11:47 pm

Was reading my Louisville Magazine when I came across an article promoting this at Mellwood Art Center.

Beer tasting and chili contest plus food from local restaurants. Anybody know who is participating in this ?

2 really good causes

Alltech's Lexington Brewing & Distilling Company is. I mean, come on, it's about beer and horses (and for a great cause).

I have more info on this, courtesy of Facebook if interested :

Just wanted to let everyone know we've added even more breweries to the line up for Friday night's Horses and Heros Winterfest Beer Festival. This event is a Benefit for GreenHill Therapy and the Eric Hall Memorial Foundation. The GreenHill Therapy group started 10 years ago by one woman and one horse, but today this non-for-profit therapy center sees 125 children a week using horses, aquatic, speech and occupational therapy for physically and mentally challenged children. The Eric Hall Memorial Foundation was created in honor of a Marine that served our country and benefits those that suffer from post traumatic stress syndrome.

Join us on Friday at the Mellwood Arts Center from 5-9pm. Your $30 entry will include beer, food and entertainment...plus it's to support some great causes!
The following breweries will have presence:

Bell's
Dogfish Head
3 Floyds
Founders
Great Lakes
Flying Dog
Harpoon
Stone
Clipper City
BBC
Brownings
Upland
New Albanian
BBC - St. Matthews
Cumberland
Spaten
Franziskaner
Sierra Nevada
Kentucky Ale
AND MORE!

Food will be provided from the area such as Zanzabar, Kentucky BBQ, Tony Boombazz, Valu Market, Buckheads and Rocky's Italian Grill.

To purchase tickets in advance: http://www.greenhilltherapy.com or you may purchase tickets at the door.

They will be having a raffle, which the grand prize is a trip for two on a cruise including airfare!

See you Friday! Cheers!
