Mi Patria vs La Tapatia

by Becky M » Sat Jan 02, 2010 5:10 pm

It is just me and my husband and the babies today and we were wanting to get something cheap, but still go out.

I was thinking bbq, but that gets pricey (for us). So, i thought of taquerias, always easy on the wallet. I was thinking of just going to Tapatia, which is our favorite, but then i remembered how everyone here talks about Mi Patria.

Is there really a difference? If you have tried both, who puts out a better burrito? taco? IMO the burritos at Tapatia are pretty awesome.

My Patria's burritos are grande. Really grande. I made the mistake on first visit ordering a burrito and other stuff too. The very sweet lady taking my order and not speaking any english tried hard to stop me using sign language. I should have listened, or watched...it was huge, and awesome, I think I got carne asada. Got the tacos too and they were very very good as well. If you go Becky find out why they don't carry frozen flour tortilla dough for me!

Thanks for the info Mary Anne, i think we might try them this evening. And i will definitely ask about the tortilla dough. They might know who has some around here.

For what its worth, I prefer the burritos at Tapatia. And if you have not tried the Rositas' Supermarket/carnacita at Gilmore and Preston for tacos, you should.
The tall one wants white toast, dry, with nothin' on it.
And the short one wants four whole fried chickens, and a Coke.

Just stopped by Mi Patria for the first time. Had the taco lengua. So good!

Will definitely go back soon to try the burrito.
