Baxter station used to be open on mondays. We loved it. It was the only time we could actually visit! Thus when the holidays fell on such groovy Fridays this year, the proprieter (who's name shall remain anonymous) decided to open up the last couple of mondays. Well lemme just say that lunch was SO worth it. Took forever to decide because there was to much to choose from. I am usually a hearty burger sucking girl (great for hugs though, quite fluffy) but got the fall salad w/ blackened shrimp added. It had tasso, mushrooms, and mixed greens. Paired well w pine ridge viognier, but the surprise was the peach vin. It was so good on the blackened shrimp topping my salad that Mike was starting to wonder at the yum faces I was making. He kept offering to share his blu chz topped burgie but I barely noticed. I did however liberate several lonely frites while he was in the WC. They were good as well.
No matter what city I live in, it makes financial sense to choose Mondays as the day off, but I wish some poor martyr would buck the system! Just not me. I want to go get lunch.
