Welcome to the Louisville Restaurants Forum, a civil place for the intelligent discussion of the local restaurant scene and just about any other topic related to food and drink in and around Louisville.
I need help translating a Email from a fellow in the restaurant business who speaks only Spanish. I need help responding to him, and I may need help with direct translation in a meeting with him.
Any native speakers (preferred) or truly competent gringos willing to volunteer?
hi robin, i would be happy to help...not native but fluent, familiar with the jargon and have worked professionally as an interpreter..let me know if i can be of assistance.
Robin, I could swear that in one of her postings Becky M said that Spanish was her native tongue. I looked through seven pages of her postings without confirming, but she has over thirty some pages.

Robin, i am not a professional, but i am willing to help you out as much as i can. I am a true bilingual, I grew up learning/speaking Spanish and English. I am familiar with Mexican and Puerto Rican dialect.
Robin, I am fluent in Spanish and could translate this for you if you'd like. Not only formally trained, but pretty good in street slang depending on the content of the letter

Sounds like you've found several competent volunteers for the job already, but I just want to add myself to the list for the record as a competent gringa. I studied Spanish in school from 2nd grade through college and spent a semester living in Guadalajara.
