Lilly's

by Brad Keeton » Wed Dec 23, 2009 9:10 am

My boss gave me a gift certficate to Lilly's for Christmas, so my wife and I went last night. Until last night, we hadn't been in close to two years, but were pleasantly surprised with our experience. Everything was very good, and much better than I had remembered from past visits.

We started with the Bistro Salad (Greg’s Greens, roasted beets, pickled onion, Capriole goat cheese fritters, Broadbent smoked bacon, pine nuts, sherry vinaigrette) and the fried oysters & Weisenberger Grits with chipotle butter and sautéed spinach. My wife had the veal scaloppine and I had the Berkshire pork chop.

Everything was very well prepared and quite good, with the jewel being my wife's scalopine. It was just oustanding. For being so close to Christmas and on a Tuesday, the restaurant was packed, but service was perfect.

I'm happy we got the certificate, as after last night's meal Lilly's has definitely worked itself back into our rotation.

I have not been to dinner in while.. need to get there soon. I love it for lunch. Great food at very reasonable price.
