Lonnie, my Dad spends a good part of the in Columbus, and so we visit two or three times a year. I've looked numerous times, but cannot find anything like Hotbytes there.
I wouldn't call Columbus a "foodie" town, per se. There are numerous outstanding restaurants, but I don't get the feeling that the people are quite as passionate about it there as we are here.
Some recommendations, in the mid- to upscale range, are G. Michael's Bistro (probably my favorite, and in a great location in German Village), L'Antibes, Handke's Cuisine, and the Refectory (very $$$).
I haven't been, but a Haiku Poetic Food and Art gets pretty good reviews.
El Vaquero on Riverside is pretty good for Mexican - not exactly super-authentic, but very solid along the lines of Sol Aztecas.
