new Indian restaurant at Seviche-Goose Creek location?

by AmyBK » Tue Dec 22, 2009 8:59 am

Last night I passed the former Hungry Pelican -Seviche Goose Creek location and it has a sign posted that said "Taj Restaurant coming soon." Does anyone have any more info on it? Here's hoping it is as good as Bombay Grill.

Give it time, AM.....for the longest time, Oriental House and Hoo Kow were the only game in east of town

So happy to hear this news!! We used to go to India Palace a couple of times a month before they closed. I am hopeful this works out, and we won't have to drive as far just to get some Indian food.

We have been going to Shalimar, which we like as well, but last week we tried Cokos Locos, and if we are going to drive to J-town, we'll be going there instead of Shalimar. I do like Shalimar, but if good Indian is closer, hooray!!

The parking lot was full today and I saw a few people milling about in traditional Indian clothing, so I'm guessing that was a grand opening event and hoping it's open for business. I made my kids chicken tikka masala for dinner tonight and they loved it so I am doubly ready to have an Indian restaurant close by!

I saw the same thing while checking out the new daycare center that's right behind it (in the former Vehicle Emissions Testing building). My wife said "wow, that's a lot of Indian people," and then we saw the restaurant's sign. Can't wait to check it out!

I use a similar criteria when judging BBQ joints...I figure the more black folks or three tooth hillbillies hanging around the place, the better the BBQ. In the absence of racial/ethnic clientele I count the number of motor oil stains in the parking lot.
