Sharom's

Outer Loop. Stopped for lunch and had a Gyro. One of the best I have had. It was large enough to serve for lunch and with a go box, for dinner. Very good and people were great.

They have a large selection including fish and other dinners.

The owner is also involved with two places on Bardstown Rd in the small strip mall that includes the Left Field Lounge at Woodbourne.

As in Jim Bayan's Left Field Lounge? Goodness, I played many a game of pinball in there!

That would be Sharom's. It's been fairly widely reported in connection with Zaytun and Blue Lagoon, which I believe are run by Sharom's son. I'll correct the title.

I assume you mean Sharoms.(You might want to change the title of the post) Sharmons sounds very much like another product. But I do agree, they have one of the better gyros in town. My only gripe with them is the use of lettuce on the gyros, but a simple request to leave it off is never a problem. One other unique feature of this place is the little plexi-glass booth the owner stands in while he slicing the gyros meat of the rotisserie. It kind of looks like a phone booth that sits out in the restaurant. The service is always quick and very friendly and a reasonable price as well. I have tried almost every gyros joint in and around the city and I find Sharoms to be consistently in the top five. http://www.sharoms.com

Voila another decent place for us South Bardstown Roaders! We've been there twice over the past year or two. In addition to gyros they also have a few other middle east selections, e.g. hummas. As I've posted before, when I dine solo, or with my wife, we tend to venture into the dining heartland or scatter about in town. But its nice to have a few places nearby, such as Sharoms, Taste of Thai, Boombozz (Taylorsville Rd & Gene Snyder), Daksun, etc. when time and energy are short.
