Simply Thai - pad thai, wine, honey banana.

by JustinHammond » Tue Dec 15, 2009 9:44 pm

Simply Thai is quickly becoming my favorite place to eat in Louisville and tonight they blew me away. When we arrived the place was packed, not a seat in the house, with people standing all over the place. Most of the crowd were waiting on carry out so we were seated in about 15 minutes. We had the house salad and pad thai (#3) which were both excellent. Back to the service; this place is small but the servers are fantastic and super busy. Our server was super friendly, answered all our questions, and kept us up to date on the progress of our order.

On to dessert. Next time you visit order the Honey Banana; it is a chunk of banana that is tempura-like fried and covered in honey and whipped cream. Anyway, this place doesn't look like it is hurting for business, but give it a try asap.

They are closing from Dec 22 to Jan 16 for the holidays.

Glad you liked Simply thai Justin. It is one of our favorites too.

The "Thai eggplant is an unbelievable dish, as well as the red curry!

Love Jade, and his parents, and the servers are always friendly, and welcoming!

It's my favorite Thai in the city now. It's just a pain to get a table.

Yeah, it has been mentioned on this forum before. Having been to Thailand recently (well, last year), I've got to say there isn't a dropoff in quality here. Very authentic, and tasty. I like the pineapple with tofu curry. Forgot the name...

Reasonable prices too! I always get it to go. (the place is tiny).. Haven't been there in a bit. Glad to hear they're busy!

Yeah, the place is little. I'd guess they have seating for maybe 20. It was a mess with people waiting for tables and carry out and the servers trying to do their jobs, but it was worth it.

I ran across this site while looking for the honey banana recipe.

This lady claims some of the best Thai food in America is in Bloomington, IN.

I have never eaten there. However, we get carry out at least once a week!! Their Tom Yum soup is the best thing for a cold. I an scared out of my mind that they will expand and move, because we are less than a mile away. Now, when is the bistro going in next door?
