Speaking of Pizza....

by Bryan Shepherd » Sat Dec 12, 2009 5:15 pm

Has anyone tried Pizza Roma?? We went a few weeks back and found it quite tasty, and it looks like they have been around for 40+ years in Owensboro. I am still unsure why they would come into the teeth of "pizza alley" and open a new restaurant. With all of the big boys up and down Bardstown Rd, is it possible for them to survive?

We will go back :D :D

I noticed this place a week or so ago; have not tried it.

Here is the Website: WARNING - There's an annoying jingle every time one loads this page -

Yeah...makes me want to beat a path to THAT door. That has GOT to be the stupidest "jingle" I've ever heard...I think I'm going to stay away from this place on the off chance that the idiot who put this little ditty together is going to be the same idiot making my pizza. :?

I really don't think that will be a problem since this is the fifth Pizza Roma; first in Louisville.

Normally I don't consider violence to be a rational option....in this case, beat the aforementioned jingle writer to a bloody pulp. God that is annoying.

One of my pet peeves is music on websites. The caveat was going to keep me from visiting their website, but the string of epithets made me morbidly curious.

So who's up for some good ol' fashioned vigilantism?

What say someone...preferably someone who can back it up...Give these people a call and give them an ultimatum to get this travesty of a jingle OFF their website. I've only listened to it once but it took me over an hour of listening to Three Doors Down played at a VERY high volume to cleanse my consciousness of this goofy ditty.

Annoying? Perhaps...but it got your attention and you're talking about it....Marketing 101.

Marketing is supposed to put a positive light on business. This jingle it's so annoying you don't stay on the website long enough to see what their menu is.

Lucky for me, I keep the sound muted on my computer. It improves the great majority of websites, plus I don't get bother my sounds when I get mail. :D

As a musician I can laugh with the song because its corny and a sort of original attempt at jingle writing yet as a person dealing with marketing concepts professionally at my day job it's the OPPRESSIVE LOOP that I would advise against.

This is, in my opinion, a good model for a restaurant website.

I agree, except for the color and size of the text on the menu. A little more contrast would benefit them, but overall it is a great website.

I would respectfully disagree...the color and overall layout don't do a thing for me. By contrast the new Cocos Lokos website several of us were discussing a couple of days ago rocks. Just MHO.
