There's no "rest of the story" here. This article provides no new information about the incident at all.

Thanks for the update. Sounds like a smart call by the DA.

Here are a few more articles about the incident, but nothing more than "service was bad" and they refused to pay for the gratuity; even though it was on the menu as "mandatory". This entire thing is unprecedented; as far as I understand. Most, seem to be on their side, believing this was taken too far, but I'm not certain. I was not there and doubt anyone here really knows the entire story. If that's even possible... :?

I was still hoping for more info regarding the arrest. Were these people causing a scene? Throwing a fit, yelling, etc. I still don't get the cop's motivation for making the arrest in the first place.

Then, without issuing any warning about getting the police, the manager walked out and got an officer at a nearby intersection, Pope said.

After some discussion, the pair wound up handcuffed, put in separate patrol cars and driven to a police station.

Handcuffs are standard procedure when transporting arrestees to the police headquarters, Sarnicky said.

Yeah, I read that. I just have a hard time believing the cop found this offense arrest worthy. Either he is a complete moron or there were extenuating circumstances involving the couple. We'll just have to wait for his comment regarding the charges being dropped.
