Bardstown Road Aglow

Article in CJ says it's on Friday when it's actually on Saturday.

I'm surprised no one else has mentioned it.

Oops, that's right no one reads the CJ. Geez, what was I thinking?

I read it. I just don't feel the need to point out every erroneous mistake their paper turns out. I'd be posting all day long. And, I'm NOT saying you do either; I'm just speaking in general terms, Wes.

I agree Kyle except:

Being a restaurant that is on Bardstown Road, which is also called "Restaurant Row", and the article is about the biggest event on Bardstown Road, and it involves all restaurants on Bardstown Road, and I comment about it on a restaurant forum, well it seemed alittle more relevant than most mistakes in the CJ. Just sayin.

Crud, It would be the one Saturday I'm out of town. I've had a great time at it in the past. Hope everyone does well that night!

HI Wes! Thanks for pointing this out. I have been in discussions with Steve Coomes, the writer who is deeply sorry for the honest mistake. Mistakes do happen-I have been lucky to work with Steve and am honored he wrote about the event. There WILL be a retraction in the paper this week. The 24th Bardstown Road Aglow is Saturday, Dec 5 with a 5:pm start time!

I'll be calling you to get your bearings early-evening, Caroline. This date is not to be missed, yet it seems I am gonna have to pace myself... Bardstown Rd still remains the cornucopia of trouble for someone like me, lol! Too many great restaurants and bars, in too small of a space, too little ventured and too much too offer. Temperance is not the emotion this place invokes to me, so I will be popin' in, so to speak!

(and be draggin' myself by the collar out the door)

I don't know if this is officially related to Bardstown Road Aglow or not, but it's happening at the same time and the same place, so it might as well be. The 1st Annual Highlands Beer Festival is happening this Saturday from 4-9 in the Mid City Mall. Since there are so many beer fanatics here (like myself) I thought this bore pointing out. Admission is $5 and a list of beers and food vendors can be found here:

Why would they do this during the largest event for Bardstown Road Bars/Restaurants?

I am hoping Wes the Beer Festival will only highlight the AGLOW. I believe BBC is a major player in that event as they are a sponsor in the AGLOW-so that said, I feel they will promote the AGLOW and send people in different directions to hit the streets! I will contact Phil to have the fold-out flyers on hand featuring the map!

There is also a big block party on Baxter and Rodgers featuring Celtic music, dance and food and local vendors...there will be tons of HOLIDAY FUN to be had by ALL! The Neighborhood and Participants are going all out! :D

And Stephen, I hope to see you aglowing on Saturday-Jo's American Psycho Party at Deer Park should be interesting!

From my experiences the last three years, Bardstown Road Aglow is just a general madhouse of people out having fun. The sidewalks are packed. It is sort of a festive start of the holidays cheery mood. So it is a great night for any biz in the area to be open and rockin'...

Hope to see ya then...Saturday! We have an awesome band (Shindig) playing that night too......

Young, old, children... everyone is there. I go every year and end the night at our friends' antique/interior design shop, Renaissance, down by Spinelli's. It's just a great event where everyone is in the holiday spirit. Looks like it'll be a cold one, so bundle up if you go!
