Creation Gardens... in da house

by Ralph B. » Wed Nov 25, 2009 10:42 pm

For those two or three of you who know me, I have closed the doors on my marketing company and have accepted the job of Marketing Director for Creation Gardens. I've known and worked with the gang for years now, so I'm glad to be working with such a great group.

Part of my job is to keep foodies and chefs like you informed of all of our offerings and new company info. I'll be sure to be on here on a regular basis. Would LOVE to hear what any chefs here think of our service, our product... and foodies/chefs, what do you think of our retail store?

For those of you who don't know about our new facility in the works:

Our new Facebook page:

http://www.hs.facebook.com/pages/Louisv ... 972?v=wall

Twitter Account:

http://twitter.com/whatchefswant

We will soon utilize these groups to publish our market reports and product hot lists (alone with paper flyers and email blasts to our customers).

New and improved website will hopefully come next year.

Hotbytes has been a very important part of our marketing efforts, and will continue to be so for a long time. Thanks to Robin and the gang for such a great site!

i just wanna say its kinda funny how things can be set "firm" from CG and prices keep going up??? yes the economy is horrible and of course it is perishable but when they can keep hiring people to create new jobs....... FOCUS ON WHAT CHEFS WANT. Garden market back in the day whipped CG's rearend, I saw it coming.....they joined forces and went back to CG way. Get someone in there packin orders that knows what the hell their doing! I can go on and on but we're looking for someone new! Bob Holmes wouldnt stand for the kind of quality ya get from CG now, of course it was more personal because it was "his home" I miss Bob, hopefully his spirit haunts CG sometimes

Not sure I understood it all but I'd give this one a solid "9" on the rant-o-meter. You go Chef.

BTW, on a completely uninformed level, I kinda sorta wonder about a "go to" marketing plan where the
primary (or at least initial) focus is a presence on "facebook" and "twitter". Just sayin.

Whatever...I've got beer to drink.

Yea, I've got whiskey to drink Steve! CG could be a great company if the produce was "REALLY" focused upon. Ya never know what your getting. the major plus to CG is the vast array of items you can get

No sugar coating there Chris...Nice!! I, for one, (and I'm sure many others) have used CG solely as a secondary purveyor (for white truffles and what not) and Campisano/Piazza/A.J. etc. as primary for everything else. So..... on topic, I guess a good marketing strategy would be to get back to basics and convince accounts that the quality and price point of "basic" produce is comparable to local competitors...?? Just thinking out loud.

Would have to agree with Chris and David on this one. I use/have used CG mostly as a secondary or if I was looking for a specialty item. Have noticed quality in these areas lacking as of late.....
If you keep looking back, you will miss what's ahead....

We shop retail here about once a month (or so) and while I love the selection, my biggest complaint is very few things are priced. I think if you are going to be open to the public, you should post a "public" price.

One other thing to keep in mind is they only take cash for retail,at least thats the way it was last time I went.
The tall one wants white toast, dry, with nothin' on it.
And the short one wants four whole fried chickens, and a Coke.

Is the funeral home going to be torn down for the new building,or is it just going to be in the area where that open lot is by Service Tank? Looks cool from the illustration I saw a while back.
