I was just charged 30 cents extra because I wanted my McDouble, yes yes I know, with mayo only.

Let me get this straight: They wanted EXTRA in exchange for leaving stuff OFF? Hmm. I won't tease you about Mickey D's as per your request, Connie! :) But that's sure a nice way to treat customers.

That was a charge for having to make a special burger, not grabbing one off the shelf.

I know I should not have paid it but i think i was in shock. The 30 cents extra was for the mayo. On the screen it said; McDouble - Plain, Mayo - .30. In all actually the extra charge was . 38 cents because of the tax. I will be getting my quick lunch fix somewhere else. Lesson learned.

Which raises an interesting possibility, Justin: If one should have a craving for a McDonald's hamburger, ask for something special. It might be well worth a small surcharge to get a freshly made burger!

Alas, at McDonalds, you might get a freshly assembled burger, but that about the best you can hope for.

That's why I always ask for the potato cakes at Arbys, make them cook 'em for you.

If only restaurants could see the potential in charging for lemons requested with waters.

Maybe one day...
