:D Oh, Sue, thanks so much! I would love to get back in touch with Carl.
Do you work with him? If so, would you mind telling him Hi! from his old friend Barbara out in Valley Station? He'll probably say, "Barbara who?"
If he does, just say, "You know...Barbara...met at Terry's..?? Or maybe I'll just try callling him!

Is Rivue what The Flagship grew up to be?
If life's a Banquet, what's with all the Tofu?

Cheers!

You could put it that way, Bill. As part of the overall renovation of the Galt House under Al Schneider's heirs, the Flagship closed in January, and they've spent the ensuing time carting out all the old musty Spanish Galleon accessories and reset the place as a slick, glitzy and very modern dining room, with upscale cuisine and, of course, the same great view.

Look for Paige's report on the Rivue Privue in this week's LEO.

Bill,

Here's a quote from a Business First article on the place from a week or so ago:

The Al J. Schneider Co., which owns the hotel, has spent about $2 million to distance the new Rivue restaurant as far as possible from the dark and dated riverboat stylings of its predecessor, the Flagship. "We don't mention that other space," said Lisa Haller, executive director of sales and marketing.
'Swanky' is the preferred word
All that remains of the Flagship, which closed Jan. 1, are two giant turntables that give diners seated at the front of the house an ever-changing view of the Ohio River and Southern Indiana.

"We think the best description of the room is 'swanky,' " Haller said. "It's modern, but with an art deco flair."

They went to great pains in the rest of the article to let the readers know that the place is "swanky", so there you go -- IT'S SWANKY.

 Sorry, I thought I was using private mail with my discussion re: my friend at the old Flagship Room. I need to wake up before I hit that submit button! Barb T
