Outstanding Dessert at Baxter Station

by Mike D » Sun Nov 22, 2009 12:50 am

My wife and I made one of our frequent visits to Baxter Station on Friday evening. After a nice meal (two pints of Rogue Dead Guy Ale, cheeseburger for her, chicken and black bean quesadilla for me) we ordered carrot cake to go. We have never been disappointed by Amy's desserts (if I die and go to heaven, I expect to find her Bread Pudding and Peanut Butter Pie waiting for me), and the carrot cake is a long-time favorite of ours, but we both agreed that this was the best carrot cake we've ever eaten. The texture and flavors were perfect, and the icing..........

It's off to the gym for me in the morning. And it was worth it!

Welcome to the forum, Mike! This is my first time being the first person to welcome somebody for their first post, so it's a first for us both!

I love The Baxter Station. My beloved sister and brother in law had their first date there in the early ninties, and my neice (their 7 yr old) has had more meals there than anywhere outside of home and her Mimi's (my mother's, not the restaurant), even though they live in Indy. Had many a friend work at the Station, some still do, and I'm facebook friends with Andrew Hutton, which I find very cool, cause he's a cool guy!

Back to your original post, way to walk on!

I'll third Baxter Station. We've had many good meals there, and they have graciously accomodated numerous large groups dinners there for us many times. It's a go to for birthdays, etc.

My mom and I dined there many months ago. Whenever a conversation turns to desserts, she always mentions the chocolate cake made with Kahlua we had there. I don't remember the details exactly, but I recall it being chocolate cake, some raspberry tart, Kahlua chocolate glaze, and some light whipped cream. Or maybe the Kahlua was in the cream. Can't remember exactly now, but it is memorable for sure.

I'm hungry for dessert now.
Thinks the frosty mug is the low point in American history.
