Primo is always fantastic!

by Amy A » Mon Jun 04, 2007 10:40 am

We had another incredible dinner at Primo on Saturday night.

Immediately we noticed the menu was different. They are doing a weekly menu now. Every Monday they will add some new, exciting dishes.

I swear, I think I could go every week just to sample the new treats.

We also had nice service from our very own HotBytes poster, Jeremy. Thanks! :D

Yes! We were in for a light meal recently, enjoyed Jeremy's splendid service, and had a couple of just incredible soups - a potato soup daily special and those remarkable mussels off the regular menu. The city's most authentic Italian pizza (more about this in Wednesday's LEO), and a couple of excellent by-the-glass selections from Jeremy, who really knows Primo's great Italian list.

I love that place. We were sitting in there trying to decide whether Volare or Primo is the best Italian restaurant in town these days and finally decided that they both are, but they're different. :)

I had an amazing meal as well at Primo on Thursday.Service was great but the food was amazing. Dined with my girlfriend, brother, and his fiance. We usually share each others food to get the feel of a big portion of the menu.Had soup, salad, pasta, anitpasta, wine, steak, porkchop, chicken, and ravioli going around the table. Not one item fell short of grand. Even the hand made french fries that came with the ribeye were great. I'm not a food critic or claim to be. But I've been disapointed many times lately for the cost of the meal.Primo did not let me down.

I've heard Chef Michael Hargrove is doing wonderful things with the weekly menu and putting a whole lot of work into it. It's great to hear he is succeeding at it!

I previously posted about the rehearsal dinner that I had at Primo back in April. It was excellent. Great restaurant.

This is the one place in Louisville that the wife and I have been meaning to try since it opened. We've seen and heard so many great things! Yesterday we agreed we'd finally make it down there for our anniversary - can't wait!

Great review in the LEO and one that certainly inspires a trip to Italy just to eat pizza. I think Primo has always been close to that mark in authenticity and Tony Boomboz has always had a fantastic twist to their pizza. Mmmmm, I get hungry just thinking about it.

Just to keep the record straight, I like Boombozz in general, but only their thin-crust "Neapolitan" pie comes close to the authentic Italian original. Their regular pizzas, as I said, are good but more of a Louisville pizza with a California accent. :)

That's all I get from Boombozz is thin crust. I looove a good thin crust, and am definitely going to have to check out Primo's and Luigi's pizza as well!
