event space

by Heather L » Sat Nov 14, 2009 12:03 pm

I'm quickly trying to find local event space for a "celebration of life" so to speak. The challenging part is knowing how many people to expect - possibly a couple of hundred. No churches please. This will be a party with live music, etc. And to make it even more challenging, it needs to be in the next few days. Does anyone have any suggestions???

Thank you in advance.

Thank you so much Justin. I will absolutely look into those.

Does anyone have any thoughts or experience with the 930 Listening Room?

There's a reasonably thorough list of event spaces at www.LouisvilleWeddingNetwork.com. Look in the footer for Louisville Venues.

I am so glad to help Heather & her family. They have been friends for many, many years-- to be able to help is an honor. As details become finalized I'm sure Heather will post.

Glad you found your space. Back when I played at the Terrace, we used to do events down on the basement level of the Kaden Tower (the lacy building where Ruth Chris is)

It's a really beautiful space with lots of marble, fountains outside the doors, sliding glass doors, etc. It has a small stage and two tiered levels and holds 150 people. It has coat rooms, and a kitchen and you can do your own catering. Many people don't think of this space when planning events, but it's worth a look!
