From time to time, WWW hosts tastings. This particular one was Italian-themed. From what I can remember, there appeared to be at least 6 reds and 5 whites on offer. The cover charge was $10, and each guest received 6 tickets, good for one tasting of these selections. The Dumante tasting was gratis. I believe most, if not all were from Republic's portfolio, as Denton Thomas was in attendance. Great value, as far as I am concerned. I overheard some of the trendy vino buzzwords being thrown around, so I am sure they didn't brink plonk. I'm guessing last night's group numbered in the 35-50 range and it had the feel of a mixer. Pretty cool crowd, all enthusiasts. My kinda folk!

There was a cheese plate/munchie station set up, adding additional value to the experience. If you haven't been to WWW, it is a great environment for this kind of event. The staff there is very hospitable and knowledgeable, with Chris and Richard, the owners leading the way.
Enjoying some sushi with Melissa R afterwards, I kept thinking about how so many of the higher tier stores in the area offer these kinda events and how one could exponentially expand their wine and beer knowledge simply by attending these low-cost (or even free) affairs.
I think I may have to start delving into some of these offerings, real soon...
