I am searching for Founders Devil Dancer beer. Does anyone in the area carry it?

Check out the link in Todd's thread titled 'New website for Keg Liquors' Apparently they have it. It is listed in the Michigan Beers.

I checked it earlier; it says out of stock.

I also called The Louisville Beer Store.

Sorry that we showed in stock.... when the site went up, everything was listed as in stock, including all the seasonal beers. I've been working my way through everything adjusting what is out of stock, but it is a bit time consuming to hit them all.

We sold our Devil Dancer out in 2 days, so I can't help you, but you might check out the Barns (if you have not already) I'll shoot a message to the sales rep for their distributor and ask her if she remembers seeing any around, but that one always goes fast.

They had it at the Fern Valley Liquor Barn on Friday and they've consistently had it in stock at Springhurst for a while. I always see it and wantto buy it but the price is a bit steep for me.

LB Fern Valley was the confirmation that I got from the sales rep.... Nachbar was another place that has some.

I found a 4 pack at Springhurst for $25, and wish I didn't. Highly disappointing. I got much more malt and less hops than I was expecting. Not much floral or citrus and tons of alcohol. Not even close to being worth $6 a beer. Founders Centennial and Rye are much better buys at $10 a 6 pack.

I also picked up a 6 pack of Wild Goose IPA and found it quite a deal. $7 for a six pack and quite delicious. It has a much sweeter/fruiter taste and lower price tag than most IPA's.

Still waiting to try the Sierra Nevada Estate and Bell's Expedition Stout I picked up.

I dunno...Maybe it's me but so many of these "big" beers are just a "big" waste of money. Stone, Founders, Dogfishhead, Rogue, etc, etc...They've all got some wonderful products but by the same token they've all also got some beers that (IMHO) are simply "Brewers Gone Wild"...I've stopped wasting money on most of this crap and stick with what I know I like...Bell's Two Hearted, Founders Rye P.A., Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, Dogfishhead 60 Minute, etc.

I agree. I went through a phase where I became pretty enamored with high-alcohol beers. While I think they demonstrate the ways in which brewers can create some very interesting beers, I've resigned myself to beers that can be consumed in multiples. Whenever I'm debating the 60/90/120 minute debate, I just remind myself that 60 minute has a great taste, is 6%, and I don't really need anymore than that. The lower price is a nice characteristic too.

It's been discussed here before, but Stone's Levitation Ale, for me, is the perfect balance between body, hops, and alcohol. I found it right around the time I got over my "big beer" phase. Maybe that had something to do with my shift. It might be the perfect beer.
Thinks the frosty mug is the low point in American history.
