A request to chefs that discard rice bags.

by jpdurbin » Sat Jun 02, 2007 10:44 am

I go to the Center for Accessible Living (CAL) Business Advisory Council meetings every few months. I learned of a program they have to give people a set of clothes so they can have something to wear for interviews. Pestos and Saffrons acquired numerous rice bags for the CAL so they could distribute clothes in a package. They are the perfect size to hold a pair of shoes, shirt, tie and pants plus other items. If any restaurants just discard their rice bags or something similar, could you hold them and send a batch to the CAL. They are located at 3rd/Broadway.

Mr Durbin...
Please either post or email me specifics about where these rice bags need to go. I'll be happy to contact the mexican restaurants I work with and see if we can accomodate you.

I would suggest just collecting them then sending them in sizable batches. Someone there might be able to pick them up too but I make no promises.
