The Onion Teahouse in New Albany

by DeeDee D » Fri Jun 01, 2007 8:03 pm

We had some take out from The Onion tonight and it was sooo good, I just had to post about it! Went with the chicken fried rice. It had the most tender cuts of chicken that I have ever had. It was steaming hot with loads of freash veggies and not greasy at all. Just a touch of soy, which I like. Had the egg rolls and they were still very crunchy and hot, even after the ride home in the little wax paper bag. Killer egg drop soup! It's a must try spot for some great Chinese!![/code]

My hubby and I eat there at least once a month. I love that place. They have a sizzling tofu dish that is to die for.

I live near the Onion and it is really wonderful. They have a nice variety of items and everything is always good. In my mind their lunch is one of the best deals in town.

Once again there is another little hidden gem "just across the bridge". I have frequented this place for quite some time now and have never been dissapointed. The presentation for the udon soup is very nice for the price and it is very tasty(It's a 1/2 quart metal vessel in a "Lincoln Log" base filled with goodies). I've eaten there close to thirty times and you'll be hard pressed to find an equal(OK maybe the Oriental House on Shelbyville Rd with the REAL menu).
