Winter hours and weekly programs at Bank Street Brewhouse.

by Roger A. Baylor » Sat Oct 31, 2009 3:11 pm

Starting on Tuesday, November 3, we're making a few tweaks to the schedule at Bank Street Brewhouse (415 Bank Street, downtown New Albany).

Also, note that after cooking, eating, brewing and drinking for almost eight months, we finally are ready for a Grand Opening, which we'll be celebrating during the week of November 17. The tentative schedule will include food, beer, music, cigars (on the patio), a ribbon-cutting and more, but since I haven't nailed down all of it, the details will come later.

Thanks!

I'm bumping this back up solely because (a) winter hours start today, and (b) this means that Bank Street Brewhouse is opening at 2:00 p.m. on Tue., Wed., and Thur. Everything else is the same, as explained in my previous link.

If you were headed to downtown New Albany anyway, don't forget Toast, Wick's, Windsor, Steinert's, Connor's Place, Studio's, and the Fish House on Market -- all open for lunch.

These are crazy times in the life of NA!

Let me start out by saying that everyone should go to Bank St. immediately to try the new fixed price menu. Last night I had a wonderful salad (mixed greens, walnuts, local pears and goat cheese), brown butter gnocchi with bacon and duck meat, and a very fine chocolate mousse for the very reasonable price of $16.00. Josh Lehman (formerly of Le Relais) and the rest of the kitchen staff are putting out fantastic food that could easily go for a much higher price at some of the fancier area restaurants. A sour red ale paired nicely with the salad and a Bob's 15B brown porter was a solid accompaniment to the gnocchi as well as the dessert. I may head back tonight to try a different round of entrees and fill up my growler which must have a leak because it seems to empty too quickly. 8)
In the interest of full disclosure, I know Roger and most of the staff, but only because we have become at least once a week regulars and our dogs love the patio.

I haven't tried the prix fixe menu yet, but we took my dad over there a few weeks ago (our second trip) and everything was fantastic. Pomme frites, special salad, 2 croque madame's, and the pork shank - all prepared to perfection, plus a few beers, a bourbon and a scotch all for <$100.00 with tip. Unbeatable.

We had good service when we went for lunch, too (me and Gary F.). I want to go at night! I'll bet that's really special. Plus I could use some duck in my life.
