I'm so glad the food has picked up again after the decline. The last few times I've been there it has been very good and their portions are rewarding. Glad you enjoyed it!

I like J. Gumbo's just fine - especially the Lyndon location. I do wish they would diversify the menu a bit. There's quite a bit of chicken.

That being said, Drunken Chicken is the best thing on the menu IMO.

Drunken Chicken over the Jambalya is da bomb diggity. :D
I've noticed marked improvement in product quality in last few months myself. It got pretty bad there for a while and I still haven't convinced my wife to give them another shot after she got a really watery and not very good Bourbon (with very little) Chicken. She's worse than me when it comes to getting off of our restaurant "banned list". With the buy one get on free how can she refuse?

Hope the Crestwood location hangs in there -- very convenient for a Cajun fix (esp. their Shrimp Etoufee).... 8)
