Monday Fund Day at the O'Shea Restaurants

by Charles W. » Mon Oct 26, 2009 4:50 pm

Not affiliated with O'Shea's, but I am affiliated (by marriage) to today's beneficiary.

This is a really cool idea. As part of O'Shea's cultivate community initiative, on Mondays (every Monday?) they invite in a worthy cause and all (and I mean all) of the receipts go to that cause. Today's cause is The Healing Place--a truly great cause. So, go by O'Shea's, Flanagan's, or Brendan's and spend a lot of money.

So far they've raised nearly $210,000 for causes in Louisville. That is totally cool.

No one does it better than the O'Shea's family and their pubs when it comes to supporting worthy causes. A tip of the cap to them.

Before today I had only been to O'Shea's once. Today I ate at Flanagan's for lunch and O'Shea's for dinner. Their staff is terrific. I discovered folks that eat there every Monday so the money goes to a good cause.

I was very impressed.

I eat at Oshea's typically once a week. They have one of the best fish sandwiches in the city, great specials and the staff is terrific. I can't wait for the downtown opening, because it will be more convenient.

Downtown opening? I hadn't heard anything about that. Where will it be going? The current one really isn't terribly far from east downtown as it is.

I must say that I'm a big fan of their pint nights. (Wednesdays O'Shea's and Thursdays Flanagan's) You get to keep the glassware, which is often really cool. Not that I really need any more beer glassware...

It's not like Flanagan's and O'Shea's are terribly far apart as it is though.

I've done way too many pint nights at the two in the highlands, I'm already out of room for glassware, but I keep going back.

That PBR glass in front was not from either of the two bars, but it was the hardest to earn.
