This resident Beer Sn ... agger is yawning. As the Bare Naked Ladies once observed, "It's all been done before," and probably better. But I'll try it when the time comes.

Ohhhhhh God....Here we go again... :D but OK, I'll be the first sucker for this topic (and I'll make it short).

Despite being a strong supporter of the "Purity Law" I won't be amongst those beating the door of the Liquor Barn down in search of this new "craft" beer. I've probably sampled most of the Sam Adams products that have been on (and off) the market over the past 10 or 15 years and have universally hated them all...every fricking one of them. Don't know what it is, at one point I even thought of seeking counseling on this matter, but ultimately came to the conclusion that getting to the bottom of this particular issue wasn't worth the deductible on my health insurance.

"Nobody knows more about beer than Weihenstephan. There is more knowledge about beer within a mile than anywhere on earth," Koch said.

A fine beer may be judged with only one sip, but it's better to be thoroughly sure.

Ditto on this. I'm more impressed with what Weihenstephaner does, but they are a very steady brewery that puts out above-average beers. Sam Adams makes average beers at best (though their Black Lager is an excellent German-style Schwarzbier). Average this out, and I'm sure we will get a B- or a C+ beer.

Todd,

I concur 100% with the grade. I'll drink certain styles of "Sam"in a pinch but without even putting serious thought into it I know can find better (and usually cheaper) examples of virtually every style they produce.
