Connor's Place Sandwiches

by Shawn Vest » Wed Oct 21, 2009 3:36 pm

I thought it was about time that someone touted the praises of one of my favorite spots on the sunny side of the river.

Connor's Place has the best sandwiches in downtown New Albany and certainly makes my favorite Cuban sandwich in the metro.

Two former NABC employees (Steven and Richard) run the kitchen side of this venture while well known restaurant guy, Dave Himmel runs the bar operations.

I'm not feeling very descriptive at the moment, so forgive the lack of appetizing descriptions.

hope you all get a chance to try Connor's, sooner rather than later

ok, i got my metaphors back

The Ernesto from Connor's Place is a big fluffy hunk of bread, similar to ciabatta in texture, but more airy - stacked to capacity with moist and tender roasted pork, sweet black forest ham, mustard, melted provolone, and crisp pickles. I usually have it with a side of multi-colored pasta salad that is packed with feta and chunks of red onions and green bell peppers.

Great place for a late night beer, too. Gee, how many new, talked about spots has NA scored just recently? (Connor's has been there a minute). I saw a bumper sticker that may get some more converts (or offend others)... "It's just a bridge... get over it!"

Congrats New Albany for another shout out~
