Yay! This is fantastic.

We had the block of rooms for our wedding guests there two weeks ago, and they all loved it. They are so easy to work with for that kind of thing. Other top-of-the-line places in town want you to put money down, or charge you in some kind of way, but 21C wanted none of that. They are a dream to have in Louisville. We actually stayed there after a wedding, even though we live in the Highlands, just for the experience. It is so comfortable and really very novel to look out onto 7th and Main in your pjs!

We did the same - the reception was at the science museum, so we just stayed at 21C. Easy stumble across the street, with the bar still hopping for a late night cocktail and food to boot. Our room was great. Unfortunately, I had to work the next day (Sunday), but it was an easy stroll up to PNC Plaza.

Congratulations on your wedding.

Unless I'm mistaken , the article is incorrect. Here is a link to http://www.concierge.com/tools/travelawards/goldlist/2009/regions/northamerica/usa/ the best places to stay in the country, selected by the readers of Condé Nast Traveler. However they are listed in Alphabetical order. Wouldn't the top hotels have the highest overall scores?

The press release refers to the November print issue. It wouldn't surprise me if that particular list is not on the website yet.

Correctamundo. CJ shoots and misses again. 21c gets a very respectable 92.3 rating, which is not chopped liver, but it's listed first only because numbers precede letters in this alphabetical list.

You may be right, but the article cites a press release from 21C--wonder what it said.

Dunno ... I'm usually on their press list, but I did not see a release come through yesterday.

Courier not incorrect. 21C received a score of 97.2. More than a point higher than the number 2 hotel the Peninsula in Chicago. The score on the Nast website is from last year.

I love how the CJ's caption under the penguin picture refers to 21 C as "a new hotel and art gallery on Main Street." Perhaps they just weren't paying attention when it opened...

Well, congrats to 21c either way, although Nast certainly confused the issue with its delay in updating the Website.

Here's the news release, which I received this morning time-stamped 8:44 a.m. Michael, do you have any idea why the CJ got the news release the day before we did?

and
#6 Hotel in the World

That's the problem, Kyle. Apparently the edition is coming out in print, but not yet on the Website.
