Cheap Eats

by Kurt R. » Thu Oct 08, 2009 2:25 pm

Not sure if my fellow foodies are aware of this. Cumberland Brews is open for lunch Wednesday - Saturday starting at noon. They run a $5 lunch special everyday! Last week I had a sirloin steak sandwich with fries on one day, another day had a grilled pork chop with onion rings. Today I had a gyro with onion rings. The food has been great and you can't beat the $5 lunch special.
I am always looking for good affordable food and I really do not care for fast food. It is well worth checking out. If you aren't working at lunch time like I am - the beer is awesome. Just thought I would throw that in there.

You also can't beat the free slice they run at Boombozz on Monday and Tuesday - Springhurst and Taphouse.

For full disclosure - Cumberland is a customer, but a I ate there before they were a customer - Boombozz isn't.

If anyone else would like to share some cheap eats - chime in.

Lunch at "A New Direction" (Hwy146/Gene Snyder). A different home cooked (style) lunch special every day for $5.50.

Lolita's has .99 cent tacos after 5 every weekday. Nothing fancy but better than Taco hell.

There is a special going on right now at Adrienne and Company in Jeffersonville. Tonight I had spaghetti $.09 with meatballs $2.00 and garlic bread $1.00 with iced tea $1.89.
They are celebrating Italian American week.

I assume the Cumberland Brews lunch menu smaller from their regular menu? And are there beer specials as well?

There is only (1) $5 lunch special daily, but the lunch menu is the same as dinner.
As for beer specials, they have them everyday, but not discounted.
