Nov. 3rd ACF Menu Trends Meeting

by Dan Thomas » Wed Oct 07, 2009 2:52 pm

I highly encourage anyone interested to come to this meeting. It's free and you don't have to be a member of the ACF to attend. This is a great presentation that I myself have found to be informative, interesting and useful. There will be some tasty snacks to go along with it. :D :D :D

Annual ACF Menu Trends
6:00PM at GFS Distribution Center in Shepherdsville, KY on November 3rd, 2009
Chicago: The Flavor First Responder, presented by Chef Gerry Ludwig, CEC

Gordon Food Service and the Kentucky Chapter of the American Culinary Federation cordially invite you to enjoy an evening of food, fellowship and idea sharing at 6:00pm on Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009, at the GFS Distribution Center in Shepherdsville, featuring an educational seminar with Corporate Consulting Chef Gerry Ludwig.

Chef Gerry says, “While New York City is the top American city for new flavor ideas, the chefs and restaurateurs of Chicago are usually the first to embrace and adapt them.” Through photographs taken during his recently completed research tour, Gerry will take you on a visual journey that highlights the Windy City foods and flavors that are part of the next wave of menu innovation for commercial operators.

GFS and ACF chefs will also be serving a buffet dinner featuring dishes from the evening’s seminar.

As a bonus R&D tool, all attendees will receive a CD containing the plate photos from the presentation with complete descriptions, as well as menu scans from the highlighted restaurants. Additionally, all ACF members will receive a certificate for one Continuing Education Hour at the completion of the seminar.

Please RSVP by Tuesday, October 20th, 2009 This event will fill up fast...seating for 100 people only so RSVP today!

I don't see the time any where in Dan's post. It is at 6pm.

Dan I would love to attend just out of curiousity but with available seating only being 100 I would be afraid I would take a seat from someone that really NEEDS to be there. (i.e. someone in the biz).

I understood the last day to RSVP was one day last week (I got in just under the wire) - but Dan might know something I don't know!

Also, I could use a ride, if anyone's going from conveniently near me (Highlands).

I'm heading down to help cook when I get off work around 3:00ish. I could pick you up at school If you want to go down there early. I'd be more than happy to be your chauffeur :D

No problem. Do you mind hanging around school another hour til I get there, or do you want to go home and I'll pick you up there?

I'll just hang out in the library or roam the halls looking for uniform violations :)

Oh, Marsha, now you're bringing back memories. Do the "kids" still try to wear the uniform pants saggin'?

They surely do. The big thing these days is the large-gauge ear piercings. I have no problem with people modifying their own bodies, but if you think they look odd or bizarre on folks that wear them - imagine what their earlobes look like with them taken out  "Oh, I thought you were wearing hoops. Sorry about that - carry on."

Also, apparently you can no longer be 18 in this country without a tongue-ring.
