Potstickers

by Suzi Bernert » Tue Oct 06, 2009 8:08 pm

Went tonight - pretty good for the first day. Potstickers, noodle bowls and sandwiches. 3 meats, tofu, 5 sauces, multiple fresh toppings - Infinite possibilities! We had a bit of each. Chicken and sesame and beef and ginger potstickers. Honey soy pork noodles and a Miso chicken sandwich. Sauces are chili ketchup - a bit of a kick, peanut - really good, asian BBQ - nice, and wasabi mayo - creamy with a kick. They also had bottled asian hot sauce and soy sauce. There are several sandwich and noodle choices and you can build your own of either. Reasonable prices - 15 potstickers for $7.75 most expensive on the menu. Bottled sodas, Sobe and other drinks. My only disappontment was no hot tea. The potstickers were crisp, some pieces were a bit "chewy", but good flavor that was complemented by the sauces. Hubby thought the noodles were "doughy", but I liked them. The sandwich was on a nice roll, but with very small pieces of meat and veggies, was kinda hard to eat as a sandwich, we ended up using chopsticks and a fork. I have a feeling if you load up on toppings, it will become a challenge to pick up cleanly. Son just ate, only after he got extra peanut sauce and did everything short of licking the noodle bowl, did he say it was good. I see a new regular stop in our rotation. :D

Haven't tried it myself, but a colleague did on Sunday night. Her take was that it was so so, but the negatives seemed to be working the kinks out of just opening. She said her potstickers were burned on one side and nearly raw on the other. When she pointed this out to someone, the person agreed but made no offer to replace them. She also commented on her surprise of no rice being available.

On the positive, she said the toppings and extras were all great, and incredibly fresh.

I plan to give it another week or so, and then give it a try.

According to a sign on the door today, they have closed down until the 10th to finish up "construction."
