Highland Fish Market to open wine shop(pe)

by Robin Garr » Sat Oct 03, 2009 12:03 pm

This just in by Email ... another good option for wine, and an intriguing idea to pair it with a quality fish shop with the idea of finding a matching wine for dinner. Kudos to Gary & Co. Note also the sorting-by-style concept, which has been a growing trend in larger coastal cities for a few years.

Highland Fish Market Announces Plans To Open The Wine Shoppe at Highland Fish Market
Middletown
(502) 254-3474

... In the next month, Highland Fish Market will be expanding its selection to include top quality wines from around the world.

The Wine Shoppe at Highland Fish Market

The Wine Shoppe at Highland Fish Market will open in late October, located in the heart of Middletown inside The Highland Fish Market.

The Wine Shoppe will offer a great selection of wines at great prices. You can find everyday wines for under $17 -- even great buys under $12 -- but you will also be able to find highly-rated, hard-to-find wines. Look for small producers that you won't see at the liquor stores up the street. Gary Hirsch, the owner or one of his managers, can pick the right wine for you. If you need a special wine for a food pairing, wines for an event, or just a wine to drink on a sunny afternoon, we can help you find the perfect bottle.

Wine Selection Made Easy!
All of our wines will be broken down into eight distinct type categories that include Crisp, Silky, and Rich for whites and Bold, Mellow, Fruity for red wines, as well as Bubbly for Champagnes and Nectar for dessert wines. Each wine type will feature a description listing the characteristics, flavors and suggested food pairings.

Upcoming Events
Free Wine tastings will be held at The Wine Shoppe every Friday from 3-6 and every Saturday from 12-3. The best way to learn about wine and what you like is to taste as many wines as possible. Join us to learn about different special wines each weekend.

I hope everyone goes to Highland Fish Market! In full disclosure, my son Chase works there, but Gary has done a great job w/ the expansion. It is warm & inviting, and the freshness & quality of the fish can't be beat. Great location in Middletown. Please support the locals! :D

I really like Highland Fish Market and the work that Gary and crew are doing out there. I just wish they were in the Highlands, as the name implies. My regular routes rarely take me out to Middletown.
