Lunch at Safier

by Bill Veneman » Thu Sep 24, 2009 12:14 pm

OK, I must admit that over the last month that I have been back at work, I've been bring my lunch, watching my pennies (Hospital and doctor bills are outragiious, even with insurance, but I digress). So today my cube bud pronounce she was hungry and suggested that we walk down to Safier I jumped at the chance. I had not been there since July, before I fell ill.

Besides being a 1/2 block from my office, the food is consisntly delish. I got my usual Vegitarian platter, which you can get several different way with 3 different appitizers....I got today 2 orders of grapeleaves (Nice sized, with a spicy vegie mix inside) and spinich puffs, served with hummas and pita ($8).....very tasty. My bud got her usual of the Chicken Kabob wrap and Hummas ($5).

Walking into the place was like being back among the living today. I've got to remember to do that more often. Especially when Turkey and Harvati just don't ring the chime.
If life's a Banquet, what's with all the Tofu?

Cheers!

Bill, did you notice my favorite Rocky in the kitchen? You may remember him from when he worked at DakShin. The food at Safier is really tasty, love the chicken shwarma and the hummus absolutely rocks.

I order the shish tawook a lot, partly because it rocks, partly because I enjoy saying "Shish Tawook." Sounds like food from Star Wars.
