I need to get over there again. Melillo's and now this, I will be greatly saddened.

We used to go there all the time when they were based in Jeffersonville. I practically grew up there. It would be a shame to see this place go out twice (Jeffersonville and Louisville)

Threads like this may well kill them. Has anyone called or are we to form our opinions from a blog that says both; "might have to" and "they still have some fight left in them"?

Come on already, go there, eat and report back.

I actually heard this from a friend who dined there last week. She said she was told the same thing but I hadnt gotten around to posting on here for verification. I however think this could save them as it would drive people out to eat there to help save it. Of course I've had that argument on this board before. I dont want Ray's to go as that leaves me with just two Italian Options in town with more than one dish I can eat on the menu.

I think so, too. If they're that fragile, a friendly discussion here won't make matters worse. If a flurry of diners will boost their spirits enough to keep them trying, a discussion here could help with that.

Well, the post over at Louisville Lunch makes it sound like it isn't over yet for Ray's, which is definitely good news.

On that note, who wants to have an offline there sometime in the next week or so?

This Saturday and next Friday both work for me.. What do you all think?

Saturday's out for us, but next Friday is open as of now. I'd be happy to try to throw on some support.

We would be up for the offline as well. Drove by today(lunch ish) and saw a good number of folks outside.

While not the top Italian in the city (by my esteem), it would certainly be a shame to lose Ray's. We've had many good meals there and it is a Frankfort Ave. staple. I too had heard the rumor, but stayed mum.

I would definitely be up for an offline.

I'll try to make an offline at Ray's. Next Thursday is my birthday, let's do it then.

Hmm... Thursday works for me too, but I'm not sure about everyone else. I think you and Steve should have a cage match to determine when we have it.

Nevertheless, I'm going to tentatively leave it on Friday until I hear the results. Does 7 work for everyone?

Here's the list so far:

Paul and Sarah?
Robin and Mary
John and Annie
Steve P and Becky
David

Friday works for us,but I still think it would be fun to see David and Steve in a cage match. Maybe we could call it Geezerbash 09.
