Good Louisville Friend of mine died this weekend

by Nimbus Couzin » Mon Sep 21, 2009 6:21 pm

Hi all,
Just letting ya'll know that Tom Crain died early saturday morning in a car crash. He was a very good man. He wasn't in the biz, but he loved good food. You'd probably be more likely to see him at Swan Dive, or Earthsave picnics, or at Ray's rather than at upscale joints. He did his time for our country. He was a retired Navy SEAL and did a lot of things that most of us couldn't or wouldn't do, but he did them nonetheless. He spoke out against war, and was working to promote the Dept of Peace.

I'm pretty pissed at the world right now, because he was a friend, and he was very young (43). I'm still trying to smile at customers, but if I don't, you know why...

Cheers...

Nimbus,

I've lost three "best friends" in the past 10 years and it's never easy. Condolences to you and the rest of Tom's circle of friends and family.

Sorry for the loss of your friend this week, I know, I lost a friend this week as well.
I thank my lucky stars, and try to live each day to the fullest, as well as think of those who are near the Abyss as well. We need to push ourselves to the best of our ability to squeeze out the most we can before it is too late. "May you be half way to heaven before the devil knows you are dead"!

Sorry for your loss. I can't imagine what you must be feeling right now.

Tom was fortunate to have had a friend who thought as highly of him as you did. I'm sorry for your loss.

Nimbus, I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your friend. It's so sad when we lose people suddenly, especially when it seems to be before 'their time'. We'll keep you and his family in our thoughts and prayers.

Heather - I am also sorry for your loss, and our prayers will go out to you as well.

My deepest sympathy. Sometimes we forget or don't even realize how precious life is and that it can be swept away in a few short seconds.
