Fire in Crescent Hill kills man, 25

Our condolences our with his family as they cope with such a difficult time.
He will be missed by all those who've ever had the pleasure and opportunity to be warmed by his smile and sharing in his laughter.
His inspiration will live on in all of us throughout our lives and careers.

Bobby was an alum of North End Cafe and Lilly's before joining the Oakoom staff.
Known and loved by many in the city's restaurant community, he will be sorely missed.

Please keep his family in your thoughts, and pass the word on to those who may have had the pleasure of knowing him.

I put vegetables in your desserts, white chocolate with your fish and other nonsense stuff that you think shouldn't make sense, but coax the nonsense into something that makes complete sense in your mouth. Just open your mind, mouth and eat.

Hey Ethan, I got your message last night and spoke with Todd.I hope you got mine.We are all still in shock here at Seviche. He was good friends with a lot of the kitchen boys.He never ordered off the menu and would always ask me to surprise him.He had so much passion and wanted to work a couple of days to learn some Latin flavors. My thoughts are with his family. Is the wake today?

We are sadden to hear of Bobby's passing. We worked with him when he was at North End and at the Oak Room. He was always happy to see us and always had a smile on his face.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to his immediate family and his extended family in the restaurant business.

Echoing what the others have said, this is sad ... a tragedy. Thanks for passing it on, though, Ethan, and to Todd and others for clarifying details of the services and the fund for donations.

I came across Bobby's obituary in the Courier- and noticed he was a restaurant person- and came here, knowing he would be mentioned. In all my years of waitering around Louisville, I'm sorry our paths never crossed. Such nice things said in the obit, as well as in his obit guest book, and wonderful things said here. To be loved by family, friends, co-workers- is there anything more beautiful? I always loved working with and for nice people- I was quite lucky. And it seems this nice guy, taken away much too soon, was ever so lucky too.

Bobby's memorial service was today. It was so sad to see so many young (mid-20s) people having to say goodbye to one of their contemporaries. There was a large contingent of restaurant people there, in their chef whites-it was a nice tribute to Bobby. He really was a sweet guy. He has been best friends with my nephew Jeremy for many years, and when Bobby was a senior at Brown and my daughter was in the first grade, Bobby would always look out for her-she said that, after Jeremy left Brown, it was like her cousin was still there, because Bobby was there with her. His death at such a young age was a tragedy, and we will always remember his bright smile and warm hugs.

The service truly was a celebration of his life. He was such a genuine person, happy to share whatever he had so someone else could experience whatever it was that made him happy. He didn't have a selfish bone in his body, and he made us laugh everday. It's hard to look down the line and not see him there, the Oakroom isn't the same. We miss and love him.

I didn't know him, but reading the posts and his obit, he sounded like such a wonderful young man. So tragic that he was taken from this world at such a young age, but at the same time, I celebrate the fact that he was able to pursue his dream in the kitchen, and was happy. Many people live a ripe old age, and don't find this kind of happiness or fulfillment.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family, and all who knew him.
