Bardstown Rd Lunch Spot

by JustinHammond » Fri Sep 18, 2009 1:17 pm

I am looking for some ideas for lunch spots on Bardstown Rd, preferably close to Ray's Monkeyhouse. There will be 3 adventurous eaters, one picky eater, and two children. I have been to Ditto's, Boombozz, Mark's, Seviche, Palermo, Sapporo, and the Tequila Factory.

Ramsi's. They have everything from Cheeseburgers to Asian food and everything I have had there has been tasty. I highly recommend the jerk chicken sandwich. I miss their downtown lunch location.

Molly Malone's. All of the Irish faves and probably the best soups in town. I think they are very underrated.

Right by Ray's, check out the gyro place across the street, next to Leatherhead. A little further down would be Zaytun - went back last night for our third gyro in as many weeks. So good.

What's the name of the gyro place? Is it a sit down place?

What's the name of the gyro place? Is it a sit down place?

Pita Hut, in the old Grateful Threads space. They have tables, yes. It's not the "nicest" sit down, but there's some character, and the food is good. They have gyro's and a few other assorted Greek/Middle Eastern items, but also burgers, fries, and other American fare. Both times I've been in soccer/football has been on the small TV.

There is also a big dessert case, which, though I have not tried, have heard is outstanding.

Cumberland <sigh>....We love Cumberland. First place we ever went went we were checking out L'ville and since moving here we try to swing by at least once a month. The food is really very good and nothing needs to be said about the beer.

Is Za's open for lunch? It's right along that corridor.

Hey, if you want to try the best gryos this side of Chicago (my customer's opinion) then check out A.J.'s Gyro Cafe, at Higlander Point, Floyds Knobs. Take 64 West exit 119, first stop light left and then second right.

Stephen & Stephens is a little bit down the road, but you know it's good.

Oops! Mine is actually spelled with a ph but I go by Steve instead of Steph for short, hence the typo. Alas, regardless of the spelling you know that it is always all good!
