Pre-Bourdain Meet-up at Z's Fusion

by Marsha L. » Thu Sep 17, 2009 5:36 pm

Let's start planning this here, then maybe move it over to the Offline forum after folks realize it's happening.

Who'd like to meet at Z's Fusion for pre-Bourdain drinks/apps/whatever on the evening of Friday, September 25th? What time shall we meet?

The wife and I are interested. We usually do Rivue before a Kentucky Center event, but have been anxious to try Z's. I'm thinking 6:00.

So. Marsha. Have you come to any conclusion on exactly how you are going to get Tony out and about town after this big shindig ? Kidnapping is likely out of the question...Then again if you were to throw a pillow case over his head, throw him in the trunk of a black caddy and drop him off in front of Bourbons Bistro...Well who knows. :P

Sounds like a great idea. I'm like 98% sure my wife and I are going, and I just suggested pre-Bourdain at Z's to her last night, unaware of this suggestion.

We're very likely in.

Well....I actually had a little chat with some folks from Tony's production company this week already. He's on a pretty tight schedule this trip, but (thanks to Robin pointing out my Facebook group to them) they picked my brain for filming venues and they say they're planning to come back, so I think I'll save my party-pestering until the next time he comes to town. 8)

I'm in! I had already posted something in the offline planner, and Gayle was the only person to respond.

Marsha, if you want to start a new thread or bring it to the top feel free.
What time should we meet at Z's.

Count me in and Nancy Ann as well. Have we decided on the time yet?

Tom and I are in as well! (remember, his last name is Person ;-) Thanks for organizing! And, well, if you could drop a hint about where we might be going AFTER... to Tony's producers, maybe we could convince him to join us! (I'm thinking maybe Third Street Dive might be his speed....)

Drop a hint about meeting at Z's. Surely Tony will want to eat before the show.

Regarding post-options, can we just put a giant blanket over 4th Street Live? I'd prefer if he didn't even know it existed. . .

If No Reservations were to film here, I could very much see the show starting with one of those throw-away beginnings in which TB slams 4th Street and then makes a narrative turn along the lines of "but luckily Louisville has so much to offer, there's no need to ever visit 4th Street Live." Personally, I'd love to hear Tony slam 4SL (either in person or on his show) and, were he to do it on the show, maybe that would be the national, negative publicity that place so deserves. Down with 4SL!

In fact, I think a perfect night might be doing 4SL with Tony. That night would be at least memorable, if not much more.
