New Brewmaster to Launch ‘Local Favorites’ Autumn Beer Dinner Series at Lilly’s

[Louisville, KY -Sept 16, 2009] Ken Lee, the new brewmaster at local craft brewer Alltech’s Lexington Brewing and Distilling Company will be at Lilly’s, A Kentucky Bistro, on Tuesday, September 22nd to kick off the brewery’s inaugural Local Favorites Autumn Beer Dinner Series. Lilly’s chef/owner Kathy Cary will pair Alltech’s portfolio of ales with a selection of Kentucky Proud products, including a locally produced Bison Ribeye which will be served with Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale and an Upside Down Apple Cake with Hot Toddy Sauce which will be served with Single Batch Kentucky Cream Ale.

The three course dinner begins with a meet and greet with Brewmaster Lee and representatives from both Lilly’s and the brewery at 7 p.m. Lilly’s, A Kentucky Bistro, is located at 1147 Bardstown Rd. The cost of the dinner is $40 plus tax and gratuity. Reservations can be made by calling Lilly’s at 502-451-0447.

The Local Favorites Autumn Beer Dinner Series is a three part dining experience highlighting top Louisville-area restaurants and their commitment to locally produced craft beer. This year’s selection of restaurants includes Lilly’s, A Kentucky Bistro, J. Graham’s Café & The English Grill Restaurant at The Brown Hotel, and Limestone Restaurant. Located in the heart of downtown Lexington, Alltech’s Lexington Brewing and Distilling Company has been brewing award-winning beers since 2000 when Kentucky Ale was launched. Kentucky Light, a Kölsch-style ale, was created in 2003 and Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale completed Kentucky’s Triple Crown of Beers in 2006. The brewing and distilling company is also the Official Beer Sponsor of the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games landing in Kentucky in September of 2010.
